Samuel Miller

Samuel Miller (October 31, 1769 – January 7, 1850) was a Presbyterian theologian, author, and educator. He was one of the founders of Princeton Theological Seminary and served as its first professor of systematic theology from 1813 to 1849.

Early life and education

Miller was born in Dover, Delaware, in 1769. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1789 and was licensed to preach in 1791. He served as pastor of several churches in Pennsylvania and New York before moving to Princeton, New Jersey, in 1813.
