Life of Saint Monica
'Life of Saint Monica' Summary
Monica's journey begins with her marriage to a pagan nobleman. Despite their religious differences, Monica's love and faith gradually influence her husband, leading to his conversion to Christianity. However, their happiness is short-lived when their son, Augustine, rejects the teachings of the Church and embraces a life of hedonism. Heartbroken, Monica prays tirelessly for her son's return to the faith and eventually witnesses his transformation. Augustine goes on to become one of the most influential Christian theologians of all time, and Monica's unwavering support and prayers are widely credited for his conversion. Through her example, Monica demonstrates the power of love, faith, and the enduring bond between a mother and her child.Book Details
