Natural History Volume 2
'Natural History Volume 2' Summary
The Natural History is a vast and ambitious work, covering a wide range of topics from geography to zoology. Pliny's work is full of interesting and often bizarre facts, and it provides a fascinating glimpse into the world as it was seen by the Romans. For example, Pliny believed that elephants could live for 300 years, that ostriches could digest iron, and that there was a race of people who lived without heads and had their mouths in their chests. While some of Pliny's beliefs may seem strange to us today, they reflect the state of scientific knowledge in the ancient world.Book Details
