'Bible (KJV) Apocrypha/Deuterocanon: Book of Tobit' Summary
Tobit, a devout Israelite, is exiled to Nineveh and faces hardship, losing his sight and facing financial ruin. His son, Tobias, is sent on a journey to Media to recover a debt, accompanied by the angel Raphael in disguise. During their perilous journey, they encounter dangers, including a demon who seeks to harm Tobias and treacherous landscapes. Raphael guides Tobias in finding a suitable bride, Sarah, whose seven previous husbands were killed by the demon Asmodeus. Raphael instructs Tobias on how to ward off the demon and protect Sarah, securing their marriage. Tobias also heals Tobit's blindness with the fish's gall, fulfilling the prophecy of the angel.
