Eros And Psyche

Eros and Psyche

by Robert Bridges

Robert Bridges' Eros and Psyche is a retelling of the classic myth of Eros and Psyche. The poem is divided into twelve cantos, one for each month of the year, with the number of stanzas in each canto corresponding to the number of days in that month. Each stanza is a septet, following an a-b-a-b-c-c-b end-rhyming schema. The poem explores the themes of love, beauty, and nature, and is considered a significant work of English literature.
