'In the Pecos Country' Summary
In the Pecos Country is a Western novel set in the Pecos River valley in the late 19th century. The story follows a young man named Jack as he tries to find his place in the world. Jack has recently returned from the Civil War and is struggling to adjust to civilian life. He decides to travel to the Pecos River valley in hopes of finding a new start. When he arrives, he quickly learns that the valley is a dangerous place. The outlaws and rustlers are prevalent, and Jack soon finds himself in over his head. However, he also meets a group of kind and helpful people who help him to adjust to his new life. As Jack spends more time in the valley, he begins to learn more about himself and what he wants out of life. He also begins to fall in love with the valley and its people. In the end, Jack decides to stay in the Pecos River valley and make it his home.Book Details
