Jerusalem
'Jerusalem' Summary
Jerusalem begins with a vision of Albion, the giant who represents England, lying asleep in a state of oppression. The poem then follows Albion's journey as he is awakened by the sound of trumpets and led by the spirit of Jerusalem to a new land of freedom and peace. Along the way, Albion encounters a variety of characters, including Orc, the spirit of revolution, and Urizen, the spirit of reason. The poem ends with a vision of a new Jerusalem, a city of light and beauty that represents the hope for a better future.Book Details
