Life Of St. Vincent De Paul

Life of St. Vincent de Paul

by Frances Alice Forbes

This book tells the story of Saint Vincent de Paul, a 17th-century French priest who is known for his compassion, humility, and generosity. Vincent was born into a poor family in France in 1581. As a young man, he was captured by Turkish pirates and sold into slavery. He escaped in 1607 and went on to become a priest. In 1625, he founded the Congregation of the Mission, a society of missionary priests commonly known as the Vincentians or Lazarists. He also founded the Daughters of Charity, a group of nuns who provided nursing care to the poor and sick. Vincent de Paul is considered one of the most important figures in the history of the Catholic Church. He is known for his tireless work on behalf of the poor and needy, and he is a role model for Christians around the world.
