Von der göttlichen Vorsehung (De Providentia)
'Von der göttlichen Vorsehung (De Providentia)' Summary
Seneca's "On Divine Providence" is a philosophical treatise that addresses the problem of evil. Seneca argues that the existence of evil is compatible with the existence of a benevolent and omnipotent God. He does this by arguing that evil is a necessary part of the natural order and that it ultimately serves a greater good. Seneca also argues that we should not be upset by the presence of evil in the world, but rather accept it as part of the natural order of things.Book Details
