'Malavoglia' Summary
I Malavoglia, una famiglia di pescatori poveri che vive ad Aci Trezza, in Sicilia, si ritrova in una spirale di sfortuna quando il loro capo famiglia, padron 'Ntoni, decide di comprare una barca di lupini per migliorare le loro condizioni economiche. La barca, però, viene distrutta da una tempesta, e la famiglia si ritrova in un ciclo di debiti e povertà. La loro lotta per la sopravvivenza è aggravata dalla società classista dell'epoca, che li considera come marginali e inferiori. La storia segue le vicende di ogni membro della famiglia, ognuno con le proprie ambizioni e desideri, ma tutti accomunati dalla speranza di un futuro migliore, che sembra sempre sfuggirgli. Nel romanzo, Verga descrive la vita quotidiana dei Malavoglia con realismo e attenzione al dettaglio, mostrando le loro difficoltà, i loro sforzi e i loro fallimenti.
