Marthas Kinder
'Marthas Kinder' Summary
Baroness Martha Tilling, a prominent peace activist, continues the legacy of her late husband, Friedrich, who was assassinated for his anti-war activism. She instills in her children, especially her son Rudolf, the values of pacifism and disarmament. Rudolf takes up his father's cause, but he also seeks to link it to social justice, recognizing the connection between peace and social equality. Martha's daughter, Sylvia, represents the theme of women's emancipation in the novel. Their lives, however, take unexpected turns, challenging the noble plans that Martha and Friedrich had for them. Despite these twists and turns, their ideals ultimately prevail.Book Details
