Men Of Harlech

Men of Harlech

by Talhaiarn

"Men of Harlech" is a song and military march traditionally associated with the seven-year-long siege of Harlech Castle from 1461 to 1468. The music, believed to be an old folk air, was first published in 1794 without lyrics. In 1862, Welsh poet John Jones (Talhaiarn) provided Welsh lyrics for the song, which was later translated into English by John Oxenford and published in "The Songs of Wales" in 1873.
