Pocket Island
'Pocket Island' Summary
Pocket Island, named for the pocket of land created by the tides, is a small, secluded island off the coast of Maine. The story begins in 1824 with the arrival of a young couple, Nathaniel and Elizabeth, seeking a new life. They build a home, raise a family, and become part of the island's close-knit community. However, the island harbors secrets, including a ghostly presence rumored to haunt its shores. As the years unfold, their lives intertwine with the island's history, including tales of rum-running, smuggling, and the sacrifices of those who fought in the Civil War. Through it all, the enduring love between Nathaniel and Elizabeth remains a beacon of hope and strength, even as they face challenges and loss. The novel explores the enduring legacy of families, the timeless allure of the sea, and the enduring power of love in the face of adversity.Book Details
