'Poezii' Summary
Mihai Eminescu (15 January 1850 – 15 June 1889) was a Romanian Romantic poet, novelist, and journalist, generally regarded as the most famous and influential Romanian poet. Eminescu was a central figure of the Romanian literary society in the second half of the 19th century. His work was published when the Romanian language was in flux, influenced by both Slavic and Greek, as well as other languages, and he is credited with helping to stabilize the language. Eminescu's poetry is often characterized as a synthesis of German Romanticism and Romanian folklore. His work is notable for its musicality, its rich imagery, and its philosophical depth. Eminescu's poetry explores themes of love, nature, death, and the meaning of life. Some of Eminescu's most famous poems include "Luceafărul" ("The Evening Star"), "Doina" ("The Folk Song"), and "Odă în metru antic" ("Ode in an Antique Meter"). His work has been translated into many other languages, and he is considered to be one of the most important Romanian poets.Book Details
