Prinzessin Brambilla

Prinzessin Brambilla

by E. T. A. Hoffmann

Prinzessin Brambilla is an allegorical-fantastic fairy tale set during a timeless Roman Carnival, as depicted in Jacques Callot's graphic series "Balli di Sfessania." The story follows a pair of lovers who, through the power of love, imagination, and humour, find themselves rising above the trivialities of everyday life. Initially mistaking their own desires for reality, they gain self-awareness and a realistic modesty that leads them to lasting happiness.
