Robert's Rules of Order
'Robert's Rules of Order ' Summary
Robert published four editions of the manual before his death in 1923, the last being the thoroughly revised and expanded Fourth Edition published as Robert's Rules of Order Revised in May 1915.
After the death of Robert, other similarly named manuals also based on the original work by Gen. Robert have been published by other authors. A series of these variations have been published in cooperation with a Roberts family trust, notably including a version called Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised (RONR) in 1970, and several more editions since then which have been produced by the Robert's Rules Association with authorization from the family trust. The association contracts with an authorship team to continue the task of revising and updating the book. The 12th and current edition of the RONR was released on September 1, 2020. The existence of multiple editions and other variations, all published as "Robert's Rules of Order", can sometimes cause confusion, as the various publications may differ in some details.
