Ten Days In The Light Of Acca

Ten Days in the Light of Acca

by Julia M. Grundy

This book documents the author's pilgrimage to Akko in 1905, a historical prison-city in the Ottoman Empire and the final place of exile for Baháʼu'lláh, the founder of the Baháʼí Faith. The author, Julia M. Grundy, was part of a group of American pilgrims led by Mr. and Mrs. Howard MacNutt. The book chronicles the pilgrims' journey, including their encounters with ʻAbdu'l-Bahá, the son of Baháʼu'lláh and the leader of the Baháʼí Faith at the time. It contains recordings of ʻAbdu'l-Bahá's teachings and the author's personal reflections on her experiences during her brief stay in the Holy Land. While valuable, the book should be understood as a personal account and not an official source of Baháʼí teachings, as the Baháʼí Faith considers the writings of Baháʼu'lláh, ʻAbdu'l-Bahá, and Shoghi Effendi as authoritative.
