An anonymous author is a writer who has chosen to keep their identity hidden from their readers. The reasons for this decision can vary, and may include political or social persecution, personal privacy concerns, or simply a desire to create a sense of mystery around their work. Some anonymous authors may have lived in times of censorship or political oppression, and chose to publish their work anonymously to avoid being punished or persecuted. Others may prefer to keep their personal lives separate from their writing, and choose to remain anonymous to protect their privacy. In some cases, anonymous authorship can also be a deliberate artistic choice, allowing the writer to focus on the work itself rather than their own identity. While anonymous authors may be lost to history in terms of their personal identities, their contributions to literature and other fields can still be valuable and enduring.
