Bible (YLT) 07: Judges
by Young's Literal Translation
'Bible (YLT) 07: Judges' Summary
The Book of Judges narrates the period after the Israelites settled in Canaan. Despite God's deliverance from Egyptian slavery, the people consistently disobeyed his laws, leading to their subjugation by various foreign nations. This pattern of sin, oppression, repentance, and deliverance repeats itself several times throughout the book. God raised up judges, individuals with extraordinary strength and faith, to liberate the Israelites from their adversaries. These judges, such as Deborah, Gideon, Samson, and others, embody courage, leadership, and commitment to God. The book emphasizes the consequences of disobedience and the importance of upholding God's covenant. It serves as a reminder of God's faithfulness, his willingness to intervene in human affairs, and the need for a committed relationship with him.Book Details
