Burial of the Guns
'Burial of the Guns' Summary
In the aftermath of the Civil War, a group of Confederate soldiers struggle to come to terms with their defeat and the loss of their way of life. Led by a determined artillery captain, they embark on a dangerous mission to bury their cannons, symbols of their former glory, rather than surrender them to the Union. As they navigate the treacherous terrain and face the challenges of a defeated nation, the soldiers confront their own mortality and the fragility of their cause. Meanwhile, in other stories set in the post-war years, we encounter individuals grappling with the wounds of the past and the challenges of forging a new future in a rapidly changing world. Through their struggles and triumphs, these characters embody the resilience and determination of a people determined to rebuild their lives and their nation.Book Details
