Caballero Carmelo
'Caballero Carmelo' Summary
The story is set in the small town of Pisco, Peru, in the early 1900s. The protagonist, a young boy, lives with his family in a modest home. The family's main source of income is fishing, and they also keep a few animals, including a rooster named the Caballero Carmelo. The Caballero Carmelo is a proud and courageous rooster, and he is the undisputed champion of the town's cockfights. However, one day, a younger, stronger rooster named the Ajiseco challenges the Caballero Carmelo to a fight. The Caballero Carmelo knows that he is outmatched, but he refuses to back down. He fights bravely, but he is eventually defeated and mortally wounded. The boy is heartbroken by the death of his beloved rooster, but he learns a valuable lesson about courage and the importance of fighting for what you believe in.Book Details
