Catalog of Testimonies
'Catalog of Testimonies' Summary
The Catalog of Testimonies is a compilation of biblical passages and patristic citations compiled by Jakob Andreae. It was included as an appendix to the 1580 edition of the Book of Concord, a collection of Lutheran confessional writings. The purpose of the Catalog was to demonstrate the harmony between the Christology of the Formula of Concord, one of the confessional writings included in the Book of Concord, and the teachings of the early Church Fathers. Through the inclusion of these sources, Andreae aimed to establish the continuity of Lutheran beliefs with the broader Christian tradition.Book Details
