'Complete Works of Brann, the Iconoclast, Volume 1' Summary
William Cowper Brann, known as "The Iconoclast," was a controversial newspaperman in late 19th century Waco, Texas. He fearlessly attacked established beliefs and institutions, particularly regarding religion and politics. Brann's writing was entertaining, elevated, and often laced with colorful language. Despite his blatant chauvinism and politically incorrect views, Brann's voice was a reaction against many of the societal extremes of the day. He published prolifically in his newspaper, "The Iconoclast," and earned a cult following for his sharp wit and fearless iconoclasm. Brann's outspoken nature ultimately led to his untimely death in a gunfight at the age of 43.Book Details
