'copa de rom' Summary
The Cup of Rum tells the story of a love affair between a young woman named María and a French soldier named Jean. María is engaged to a wealthy Italian man, but she falls in love with Jean. The two of them begin a secret affair, but their love is soon discovered. María's fiancé is enraged, and he challenges Jean to a duel. Jean is killed in the duel, and María is heartbroken. She vows to avenge Jean's death, and she sets out to kill her fiancé. In a tragic turn of events, María accidentally kills her own brother, who was also in love with her. She is then killed by her fiancé. The novel ends with the death of all three main characters. The story is a tragedy that explores the themes of love, betrayal, and revenge.Book Details
