'Gold-Killer' Summary
The year is 1921. New York City is in the grip of Prohibition, and a new kind of criminal has emerged: the serial strangler. The killer, known as the "Gold-Killer," targets wealthy men, strangling them with a thin gold wire. The police are baffled, and the city is gripped by fear. But one woman is determined to find the killer: Laura Van der Luyden, the daughter of one of the victims. With the help of her friend and former Pinkerton agent, Jack Dugan, Laura investigates the city's criminal underworld, searching for clues that will lead her to the Gold-Killer. As Laura and Jack get closer to the truth, they realize that the Gold-Killer is more than just a random murderer. The killer is a master of disguise, and he seems to be targeting specific men for a specific reason. As the body count rises, Laura and Jack must race against time to stop the Gold-Killer before he strikes again.Book Details
