« Mystères de Paris » est un roman feuilleton d'Eugène Sue publié en 1842-1843 dans le journal « Le Journal des Débats ». Il est considéré comme un des premiers romans policiers et explore la vie des classes populaires de Paris au XIXe siècle, y compris le crime, la prostitution et la pauvreté. L'histoire suit un mystérieux ange gardien, Monsieur Rodolphe, qui se lance dans une quête pour retrouver l'enfant disparu de Madame Georges. Il se retrouve impliqué dans une toile complexe d'intrigues et de crimes, rencontrant des personnages aux destins tragiques comme Fleur-de-Marie, une jeune fille perdue dans les bas-fonds, et le Chourineur, un criminel aux motivations complexes.
