Haarmann. Die Geschichte eines Werwolfs
'Haarmann. Die Geschichte eines Werwolfs' Summary
In the early 1920s, Fritz Haarmann terrorized the city of Hannover, Germany, with a series of gruesome murders. Haarmann, a butcher by trade, lured young men to his apartment with promises of work or companionship, then murdered them and dismembered their bodies. He was eventually arrested and convicted of 24 murders, and was executed in 1925. Theodor Lessing's "Haarmann: Die Geschichte eines Werwolfs" is a detailed and insightful account of the Haarmann case. Lessing, a psychologist and journalist, provides a comprehensive overview of Haarmann's life and crimes, as well as the social and political context in which they took place. The book is a fascinating and horrifying examination of the human capacity for evil, and a powerful indictment of the failures of the criminal justice system.Book Details
