'田舎教師 (Inaka Kyoshi)' Summary
Seizou Hayashi, a young man from a poor family, graduates from high school and becomes an elementary school teacher in rural Japan. Despite his passion for literature and music, Seizou's life is cut short by tuberculosis. The novel follows Seizou's struggles as he tries to balance his teaching responsibilities with his own personal interests. He also struggles with the poverty of his family and the limitations of his own education. In the end, Seizou dies young, leaving behind a legacy of love and inspiration for his students.Book Details
