The Journal of John Woolman is a spiritual autobiography and a powerful indictment of slavery. Woolman, a Quaker minister, was born in New Jersey in 1720. He was a devout Christian who believed that all people were equal in the eyes of God. In his journal, Woolman describes his journey from a young man who was willing to participate in the slave trade to a passionate abolitionist who dedicated his life to fighting against slavery. Woolman's journal is a moving and inspiring account of one man's struggle for justice and equality.
