'Kriton' Summary
Im Dialog „Kriton“ steht Sokrates kurz vor seiner Hinrichtung. Sein Freund Kriton besucht ihn im Gefängnis und bittet ihn, mit seiner Hilfe zu fliehen. Kriton argumentiert, dass es für Sokrates sinnlos und ungerecht wäre, die Hinrichtung zu akzeptieren, da er unschuldig sei und seine Freunde ihn schützen könnten. Sokrates hingegen verteidigt die Notwendigkeit, die Gesetze zu befolgen, selbst wenn diese ungerecht sind. Er erklärt, dass er durch den Staat erzogen und beschützt wurde und daher verpflichtet ist, die Gesetze zu respektieren, auch wenn sie ihm persönlich schaden. Er argumentiert auch, dass das Leben an sich weniger wichtig ist als die Integrität und das Streben nach Wahrheit und Gerechtigkeit.
