'L'Adultera' Summary
Die junge Melanie van der Straaten ist mit dem deutlich älteren Geheimrat van der Straaten verheiratet, doch ihre Ehe ist unglücklich. Sie fühlt sich einsam und ungeliebt. Als sie den charmanten Major Rex kennenlernt, beginnt sie eine Affäre mit ihm. Diese Affäre bleibt nicht lange geheim und führt zu gesellschaftlicher Ächtung und dem Ausschluss Melanies aus ihrem bisherigen Umfeld.
