Legion Of Lazarus

Legion of Lazarus

by Edmond Hamilton

In a future where the death penalty has been replaced by the 'Humane Penalty' – ejection into the vacuum of space – a group of criminals, seemingly dead, find themselves reanimated through a strange scientific discovery. The Lazarus Project, as it is known, brings them back to life, but not without consequences. They are recruited into a secretive organization that operates beyond the reach of the law, tasked with carrying out missions that require their unique skills and lack of moral restraint. However, as they dive deeper into their assignments, they begin to question the true nature of their 'resurrection' and the motives of their handlers. The story explores themes of morality, ethics, and the potential dangers of scientific advancements, as these 'reanimated' criminals grapple with their past and navigate a world that both needs and fears them.
