The letters begin in January 1845, when Browning, an aspiring poet, writes to Barrett, an established and critically acclaimed writer, expressing his admiration for her work. Barrett, initially hesitant due to her delicate health and social isolation, gradually warms to Browning's charm and wit. As their correspondence deepens, they share their thoughts on poetry, literature, and philosophy, and their bond grows stronger.
