'Roman de la momie' Summary
Dans la Vallée des Rois, le Lord Evandale et son ami Rumphius découvrent une tombe intouchée. À côté de la momie, dont l'apparence est surprenante, ils trouvent un manuscrit ancien racontant l'histoire de la belle Tahoser, fille du prêtre Pétamounoph. Tahoser est amoureuse de Poëri, un jeune Hébreu, mais le Pharaon lui-même la convoite. Le manuscrit décrit l'Égypte antique avec des détails poétiques, et relate également l'épisode de Moïse conduisant son peuple hors d'Égypte.
