'Schloß Dürande' Summary
Im Frankreich vor der Französischen Revolution beobachtet der Jäger Renald seine Schwester Gabriele bei einem heimlichen Treffen mit dem Sohn des Grafen Dürande, Hippolyt. Aus Angst um seine Schwester schickt er sie zu ihrer Tante in ein Kloster. Nach Hippolyts Abreise nach Paris will Renald Gabriele zurückholen, doch sie ist verschwunden. Er vermutet, dass sie mit Hippolyt durchgebrannt ist und reist nach Paris, um ihn zur Rede zu stellen. Hippolyt bestreitet jedoch jede Kenntnis von Gabrielens Aufenthaltsort. Nach dem Tod des alten Grafen kehrt Hippolyt nach Schloß Dürande zurück. Das Land ist in Aufruhr. Auch Gabriele und Renald treffen dort ein und die Ereignisse eskalieren. Die Geschichte dreht sich um Liebe, Verlust, Familiengeheimnisse und die turbulenten politischen Zeiten, die zu einem dramatischen und fesselnden Finale führen.Book Details
