Wreck of the Hesperus
'Wreck of the Hesperus' Summary
The Wreck of the Hesperus tells the story of a ship called the Hesperus that is wrecked off the coast of New England during a storm. The ship is carrying a group of passengers, including a young woman named Hesperus and her father. As the storm rages, the ship is driven onto the rocks and begins to sink. The passengers are thrown into the sea, and only a few survive. Hesperus and her father are both drowned, and their bodies are washed ashore. The poem ends with a warning to sailors to beware of the dangers of the sea.Book Details
