Across Asia on a Bicycle
'Across Asia on a Bicycle' Summary
In 1890, two young Americans, Thomas Gaskell Allen and William Sachtleben, set out from San Francisco on a journey around the world on bicycles. Their ambitious goal was to become the first people to circumnavigate the globe on two wheels. Over the next three years, they cycled through some of the most remote and challenging terrain on Earth, including the deserts of Persia, the mountains of Turkestan, and the frozen wastes of Siberia. They faced numerous hardships along the way, but they also had many incredible experiences and met a wide variety of people. Their journey is a testament to the human spirit of adventure and exploration.Book Details
