Alice in Blunderland: an Iridescent Dream
'Alice in Blunderland: an Iridescent Dream' Summary
Alice in Blunderland is a political satire that takes Carroll's Alice in Wonderland and turns it into a critique of the political landscape of the United States in the early 20th century. Bangs uses his novel to satirize everything from political corruption to the rise of consumerism. The novel follows Alice as she travels through Blunderland, a world filled with absurd and corrupt characters. Along the way, she encounters a variety of characters, including the March Hare, the Mad Hatter, and the Queen of Hearts. These characters represent different aspects of American society, and Bangs uses them to satirize the greed, corruption, and hypocrisy of the time. In the end, Alice is able to escape from Blunderland and return to the real world. However, she is forever changed by her experiences, and she sees the world with a new perspective.Book Details
