Battle of the Books
'Battle of the Books' Summary
The book begins with the author's introduction, in which she declares her intention to dissolve the "bands" that have connected her with her publisher. She then goes on to chronicle the conflict between herself and her publisher, detailing the various indignities and injustices she has suffered. The author's tone is often humorous, but she also makes some serious points about the challenges faced by women in the literary world. In the end, the author is victorious in her battle with her publisher, but she knows that the fight for women's rights in the literary world is far from over.Book Details
