Bible (KJV) 10: 2 Samuel
'Bible (KJV) 10: 2 Samuel' Summary
The book of 2 Samuel begins with David's mourning over the death of Saul and Jonathan. David is then anointed king of Judah, and he conquers Jerusalem and makes it his capital. He then defeats the Philistines and other enemies of Israel, and he brings the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem. David's reign is marked by both great achievements and personal tragedies. He sins with Bathsheba and has her husband Uriah killed. He is also punished by God for his pride. Despite his sins, David is a great king who loves God and his people. He is known for his military victories, his wisdom, and his love of music. The book of 2 Samuel ends with David's death and the accession of his son, Solomon, to the throne.Book Details
