'Birds of Prey' Summary
The novel opens by introducing the four main characters: Adrian Mountjoy, a charming and manipulative aristocrat; Jasper Redfern, a cunning and ambitious lawyer; Mercy Merrick, a beautiful and enigmatic adventuress; and George Belton, a naive and idealistic young man. Each character has their own scheme in motion, but as their paths intertwine, their plans begin to unravel. Adrian and Jasper form an uneasy alliance to swindle a wealthy widow, while Mercy and George find themselves caught in a web of deceit.
