'Charwoman's Daughter' Summary
The Charwoman's Daughter is a humorous tale about a poor Irish charwoman living in the slums of Dublin, and her innocent teenage daughter, Mary Makebelieve. Mary is a dreamer who longs to escape her life of drudgery and find love. She falls for a young man named Michael Byrne, but their relationship is forbidden by her mother. Despite the obstacles, Mary and Michael's love for each other grows stronger. In the end, they are able to overcome the challenges they face and find happiness together.
