'Chief Legatee' Summary
John Ashton, a seemingly happy man, is deeply disturbed on his wedding day when his bride, Georgian Hazen, mysteriously vanishes after the ceremony. Their marriage is driven by the vast fortune left to Georgian by her late father, making her the chief legatee. John, initially believing it to be a nervous breakdown, soon suspects something more sinister. As he investigates, he encounters a cast of eccentric characters, including a strange lawyer, the eccentric Dr. Anstruther, and a series of suspicious relatives. John's investigation leads him to uncover family secrets, hidden motives, and a conspiracy that could explain Georgian's disappearance. The story unfolds with twists and turns, as John delves deeper into the dark side of his new family, desperately searching for the truth about his wife's fate. The suspense thickens with every revelation, leaving the reader to question everyone involved and guessing at the truth until the very end.Book Details
