Correio Da Roça

Correio da Roça

by Júlia Lopes de Almeida

In 'Correio da Roça', Maria, a recent widow, and her four daughters are forced to leave their luxurious life in Rio de Janeiro and relocate to a remote, rural farm in the mountains. The harsh realities of life in the countryside contrast sharply with their city upbringing, leading to a period of adjustment and disillusionment. However, through letters from a friend who has recently returned from Europe, Maria and her daughters begin to appreciate the beauty and richness of their new surroundings. The narrative explores themes of resilience, adaptation, and finding purpose amidst hardship, culminating in a transformative journey of self-discovery for the women.
