'David Blaize' Summary
David Blaize is an orphan who is sent to a prestigious boarding school in England. He is a shy and awkward boy, but he soon makes friends with a group of boys who become his lifelong companions. David excels in his studies and becomes a star cricketer. However, his idyllic life is shattered by the outbreak of World War I. David's friends are killed in action, and he is forced to face the horrors of war firsthand. After the war, David returns home a changed man. He is haunted by the memories of what he has seen and experienced, and he struggles to find his place in the world.
