Galatea is an epistolary novel that follows the summer experiences of Rinaldo Morelli, an admirer of the Latin poet Horace. Seeking solitude in the Tuscan hilltop town of Corsenna, Rinaldo finds himself drawn into the lives of the vacationers who inhabit the town. Among them is Galatea, a mysterious and alluring woman who captures Rinaldo's attention.
