'Gerona' Summary
En la séptima novela de la primera serie de los Episodios Nacionales, Galdós nos transporta al asedio de Gerona en 1809. La historia se cuenta a través de las memorias de Andrés Marijuán, un personaje secundario de las novelas anteriores. A través de sus escritos, conocemos la realidad de la guerra, el sufrimiento del pueblo, la desesperación y la resistencia. Andrés, después de la batalla de Bailén, se encarga de la familia de un herrero fallecido y de la familia del doctor Nomdedeu. El asedio francés, una amenaza constante, genera la búsqueda de la supervivencia en medio de la violencia, la escasez y la enfermedad. A través del personaje de Andrés, Galdós nos ofrece una visión cercana y personal de la guerra, de la lucha por la libertad y la identidad nacional.Book Details
