'Golem' Summary
Der Roman erzählt die Geschichte von Athanasius Pernath, einem jungen Mann, der in einem versteckten Zimmer in einem alten Buch eine geheimnisvolle Welt entdeckt. Er wird in eine Reihe von mystischen Ereignissen verwickelt und gerät dabei in einen Strudel aus Träumen, Halluzinationen und Intrigen. Der Roman spielt im jüdischen Ghetto von Prag und greift dabei auf die Legende vom Golem zurück. Meyrink verwebt geschickt Realität und Fantasie, sodass der Leser nie ganz sicher ist, was real ist und was nur ein Produkt von Pernaths Vorstellungskraft ist.
