'Jacob Faithful' Summary
Jacob Faithful is born on the River Thames and raised by a group of watermen. He is orphaned at a young age and is apprenticed to a bargeman. After completing his apprenticeship, Jacob joins the Royal Navy and serves during the Napoleonic Wars. He experiences many adventures and hardships during his time in the Navy, but he eventually returns home to the River Thames.
