Kees de Jongen is een klassieke Nederlandse jeugdroman uit 1923, geschreven door Theo Thijssen. Het boek vertelt het verhaal van Kees Bakels, een jongen uit een eenvoudig gezin die naar de middelbare school gaat. Kees is een slimme en leergierige jongen, maar hij heeft het moeilijk om zich aan te passen aan de regels en gewoontes van de school. Hij wordt gepest door zijn klasgenoten en heeft moeite om vrienden te maken. Toch weet Kees uiteindelijk zijn draai te vinden en wordt hij een succesvolle leerling. Kees de Jongen is een ontroerend en humoristisch verhaal over de vriendschappen, de uitdagingen en de avonturen van een jongen die opgroeit.
